We believe that everyone has something to share, one person, or a group of people, for profit, not for profit, organizations large and small. We can make the world a better place by including and honoring all people for their abilities and not focus on people’s disabilities. Everyone, it seems to us, has a disability of some kind. Some are just more visible then others. What may be seen as limitations to some can be seen as gifts to others. People with all types of abilities deserve to live the lives they choose, and as independently as they can. This isn’t always the case for people labeled as “disabled”. We advocate for change and work to do away with labels and stereotypes that harm people.
We are a small grassroots organization focusing on what people can do and what they want to do as they explore creative arts and nature. Our funding comes from the sale of our artwork, workshops and private donations. We share our talents with other people and organizations as well as our own.
People are welcome to donate what they want to attend our regular classes here at the studio but are not required to do so. We want all people to have access to the arts and nature and do not want lack personal funds to limit people's exploration of their interests in these areas.
Many of us volunteer the time we spend here at the studio. Some of us are Direct Support Professionals working with people with developmental disabilities.
“Everyone has the right to explore their personal creativity and should have the opportunity to enhance their life, and share their gifts with others.”
Barbara Wilson 2007
